Steel Buildings Basic Materials

3.1 PRIMARY FRAMING

3.1.1 Steel for hot rolled shapes shall conform to A36 ASTM requirements, with a minimum yield of 36,000 or 50,000-psi.

3.1.2 Steel for built up sections shall conform to D570, 572 and A36 ASTM requirements, with a minimum yield of 50,000-psi.

3.1.3 Steel for endwall "C" sections shall conform to AISI "COLD Formed Steel Structural Members", ASTM 607 and if applicable to the "Manual of Steel Construction" LRFD. All "C" sections shall have a minimum yield of 57,000-psi.

3.1 SECONDARY FRAMING

3.2.1 Purlins, girts, eave struts and "C" sections shall conform to ASTM 607, with a minimum yield of 57,000-psi.

3.1 ROOF & WALL PANELS

3.3.1 Panel material shall be 26 or 24 gauge "Galvalume" as manufactured by Bethlehem Steel Corporation or equal conforming to ASTM A446. Panels shall be plain or pre-painted. Panels shall be Grade E with 80,000-psi minimum yield, or Grade D with 50,000-psi minimum.
