Steel Buildings Painting7.1 STRUCTURAL PAINTING 7.1.1 Structural steel shall be cleaned of all foreign matter and loose scale in accordance with SSPC-2 and given one coat of red oxide primer. Primer shall be applied by airless handguns and shall meet or exceed TT-P-636D Federal Specification. 7.1.2 Light gauge steel members shall be shot blasted and pre-coated with one coat of red oxide primer. Some hand sprayed shop touch up may be employed. 7.1.3 Abrasions caused by handling after painting are to be expected. 7.2 WALL & ROOF PANELS 7.2.1 Base metal shall be 26 or 24 gauge "Galvalume" steel 7.2.2 Panel base metal shall be pretreated and then primed with an epoxy type primer for superior adhesion and superior resistance to corrosion. 7.2.3 The exterior finish of the panels shall meet or exceed industry standards for performance, including salt spray resistance, abrasion resistance, hardness, gloss, impair resistance Panel Warranty and full test report documentation are available upon request. 7.2.4 The interior finish of the panels shall have a white or parchment topcoat over epoxy primer, or a white parchment epoxy base coat with a clear polyester topcoat. |
