Steel Buildings Roof Wall Covering

5.1 GENERAL

5.1.1 Wall panels shall be "R", "HR", "U", "A", "AM", "Vistasheen", "Vistashadow", or concealed fastener panels.

5.1.2 Roof panels shall be "R", "PBR", "HR", "PL", "U", "PBU", "Vistasheen", "EL" or standing seam panels

5.1.3 Roof and wall panels shall be 26 or 24 gauge "Galvalume" or pre-painted steel.

5.2 PANEL DESCRIPTION

5.2.1 "R", "PBR", "HR", "PL", "Vistasheen", and "EL" panels have major ribs 1 1/4" high spaced 12" on center. In the area between the two major ribs are one or two smaller ribs. Panel shall provide 36" net width coverage. All side laps shall lap at least one major rib.

5.2.2 "U" and "PBU" panels have major ribs 3/4" high spaced 6" on center. Panel shall provide 36" net width coverage. All side laps shall lap at least one rib.

5.2.3 Architectural "A" and "Vistashadow" panels have major ribs 1 1/8" high spaced 12" on center. Panel design produces a decorative smooth shadow line with semi-concealed fastener look. Panel shall provide 36" net width coverage. All side laps shall lap at least on major rib.

5.2.4 Architectural "AM" panels have major ribs 1 3/16 " high spaced 12" on center. In the area between the two major ribs is a smaller rib. Panel is fastened to secondary framing at flat areas between ribs, which produces a semi-concealed fastener look. Panel shall provide 36" net width coverage. All side laps shall lap at least on major rib.

5.2.5 Wall panels shall be continuous from sill to roofline unless required by design. Roof panels shall be continuous from eave to ridge except where lengths become prohibitive for handling purposes. End laps shall be a minimum of 6" on roof, 4" on walls.

5.2.6 Endwall panels for buildings with 1:12 or less roof pitch shall be factory square cut. Endwall panels for buildings with more that 1:12 pitch shall be factory square cut and field bevel cut by erector.
